Linda Myshrall

I'm a victim of modern-day, transitive verbs.  You name it and I've been it:  outsourced, downsized and outnumbered.  I'm a computer programmer by nature and a writer by desire, but I'm good with that; for me, confusion leads to adventure.

I was born with two personality traits that, at times, have antagonized one another unmercifully.  I'm both painfully shy and curious to the point of being dangerous.  I'm happy to report that I've survived both long enough to be grateful for the gifts that they've given me.

From my shyness was born my need to communicate through writing; something I've done since I was big enough to operate one of those redwood sized pencils they used to dole out in kindergarten.

My fifth grade teacher encouraged my hypergraphia by entering a short story I wrote into a contest.  I didn't win, but the seed was planted.  She probably never knew how much I appreciated her for that vote of confidence.

Today, I enjoy writing about my interests and earning money on Hubpages.  If you have a hobby or interest that you would like to share, why don't you join us?  Click here to Write articles and Earn!

Curiousity led me first into a twenty plus year career as a contract systems programmer and business analyst where I had the benefit of viewing the business operations of a fascinating variety of businesses from casinos to raceways.

Later, my curiosity struck again, and once more I ventured out in the business world---this time as an entrepeneur.  I grew an interior landscape design firm from the ground up (pun intended!) which I operated successfully, then later sold.

I did not sell my love of houseplants when I sold my business though!  I still collect them, love them and write about them on my blog  I Love Houseplants!

My mind is like that of a toddler; it never stops wanting to roam and explore.  If only I could childproof the world...
